Region: Languedoc
Château Fontarèche is surrounded by 160 hectares of vines, which are sustainably farmed. The grapes for the Tradition Rosé are sourced from the vineyards beside and behind the Château, which are classified as Corbières AOC. The main grape in the Tradition Rosé blend, Piquepoul Noir, is a rarely seen black-skinned variety originating from the Languedoc region. Fontarèche has an impressive 6 hectares planted of this variety. The vines sit on an ancient limestone terrace and are rooted in a combination of gravel and limestone soil covered by large pebbles which contributes a lifted freshness to the wine.
Tasting Notes: Salmon pink in colour, the nose is characterised by scented red fruit aromas of strawberry and redcurrant with a touch of mint. The palate is lifted by refreshing acidity and delicate notes of fresh redcurrant and raspberry.
